Walk 4 :

View from the top of the hill

A great walk for stile shy dogs and humans.

From opposite the old Post Office, walk along the bridle way or concrete road (originally built during WW11 for army tanks) ;  carry along past the back of Danvers House and the football field, down the hill and under the old railway bridge.

Go through the gate, across the field, over the stream, up the hill to the top and then down the other side. At the end of the field turn right, keeping the hedge on your right.  You are now on ‘The Battlefield Way’.

Carry straight along this path to the Chipping Warden Road.  Turn right, along the road a short way and then left along the footpath which goes diagonally across the field.  The footpath will then run parallel with the road to Wadground Barn. Keep the stream on the right. The footpath continues to run parallel to the road until you reach a bridge. Cross the bridge on the right and follow the path to the corner of the field.  You are now at the bottom of the hill in Culworth, and all you must do is climb the hill back into Culworth
